I trained as a general nurse in 1975 and qualified as a
midwife in 1980. My passion has always been caring and supporting women
to nurture the babies in a positive family environment and enjoy
parenthood. I have worked in the hospital and practised in the community
since 1986 and enjoy the continuity of care I provide.
My belief in empowering women and their partners with
knowledge and skills that birthing is a natural process in normal healthy
pregnancies has led me to facilitate, co-ordinate and develop antenatal
birth preparation courses in the hospital and community settings.
Continued professional and personal development is
important in my philosophy of care to enable me to update and share
evidence based research practices. Supporting parents with knowledge to
believe, trust and embrace the body’s innate knowledge of birth.
They can enjoy the birth experience without fear, their mind free of
stress and belief that birth can be a wonderful process of life changing
transition into parenthood.
I practice as a registered independent midwife offering
specialist maternity services tailored to meet your needs.
